The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) was established to ensure that medical and other degree-granting health professional schools in participating countries are recognised to be of Best & High Standard at national, regional and international levels.

CAAM-HP has followed closely the standards used in the United Kingdom and North America with adaptations to the regional environment.

Majority of the students studying in CAAM-HP accredited medical universities or medical school will clear the USMLE and do their residency (PG) in USA.

The USMLE is a three-step examination jointly sponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME).
